We were lucky enough to have a visit from Zoolab recently. Here we learnt lots about rainforest animals and what they need to survive. We even got to hold them! It was a very exciting lesson and we tried our best to be brave around these amazing creatures!

In Year 3, at the end of each topic, we like to plan and lead in our own class liturgies. The children decide on the prayers we say, if we need a candle or holy water, and which Bible stories we listen to. It is a very peaceful time where we get to reflect on what we have learnt.

It was recently Chinese New Year and to celebrate we learnt a traditional dance, wore dragon masks, danced with parasols and learnt the story of how each animal got a year on the calendar. It was a fantastic day where we learnt lots and had loads of fun!

During the Summer term, children from year 3 visited Forty Hall and Estate.

They had some workshops linked to their 'Plants' topic.

The children also had the opportunity to look at plants close up using microscopes!

Year 3 Science Trip

Children from year 3 recently celebrated International Day.

They wore traditional dress or the flag colours for their country.

Some children created some wonderful torches for our Olympic ceremony!

Some parents also joined us to share our projects all about our country.

International Week

Children from year 3 celebrated Bastille Day on the 14th July.

They decorated the classroom with bunting and flags then enjoyed a tasty French breakfast of croissants and orange juice. They found out about the history of Bastille day and created a French vocabulary book for our link school. The children had lots of fun!

French Day

Children in Year 3, 4 and 5 who made their First Holy Communion this year took part in a special celebration of the sacrament. It was a lovely, prayerful day and the children looked wonderful in their outfits. Well done and congratulations!

First Holy Communion

On18th July  we had our final class liturgy in Year 3. (At the end of each topic we like to lead in our own liturgies in class). The children did a great job at choosing prayers, Bible readings and even arranged Holy water to be present. Our recent topic was called “A Virtuous Life” where we learnt all about the story of the Good Samaritan. Great work Year 3!

Sports Day

All children in Year 3 recently took part in Sport’s Afternoon in Lee Valley Athletics Centre. They all tried their hardest and some even won a medal! Well done everyone!
