Year 3 celebrated Black History Month with a combined PE and Computing lesson: they tried to do as many catches, lunges, skips, jumps, bounces and hoops as possible in Usain Bolt's world record 100m time of 9.58 seconds. They videoed the attempts using iPads and will edit the videos in class.

Just one of the comments from pupils who experienced Virtual Reality for the first time when Google Expeditions visited the school. There were screams of delight from all the children over 7 who were able to use the Google Cardboard headsets to explore space, volcanoes, underwater, the Antarctic, Roman Britain, the Amazon and other exciting destinations. Even the younger children were able to join in looking at the content on mobile devices. Many thanks to Google for giving us this opportunity.

Safer Internet Day 2017 was celebrated globally on Tuesday 7th February with the theme 'Be the change: unite for a better internet'. We thought about all of the things that made us unique and found out that other people shared our uniqueness! Code Club collated all the information and presented it in an assembly. We also considered what images we should share with other people online and who might be able to see them. Years 1 and 2 tried to identify clues that could give away personal information in photographs and Years 3-

This half term we have been studying Lent in our RE and Computing lessons:
Year 1 used chroma key technology to take photos of each other in the desert, in Jerusalem and on top of a mountain. Then they wrote about the Temptations of Jesus and made photo collages.
Year 2 thought about different ways that they are tempted to do the wrong thing.
Year 5 wrote blogs about the topics covered in their RE lessons and also commented on each others blogs.
Year 6 made claymation movies about being tempted to do the wrong thing.
Year 3 enjoyed using the robotic arm.
