Year 2, 3, 5 and 6 children had writing workshops with author Donna Vann.
We learned how to plan, write and edit a story.
Some children also learnt the importance of hooking the reader and ways to do this.
On 23rd March a group of keen writers from Years 4 and 5 visited The Ministry of Writing in Hoxton. They were given the very important mission of writing a story for The Chief that would be good enough to be published. Before even starting their writing, the children had to work out how to get into the workshop (which happened to be hidden behind a shop for monsters)! The Chief was a hard task master but thankfully here at St. Edmund’s we have children up to the job! Each child went home with their very own copy of their book and tales of their exciting day out.
