  • Christmas Has Arrived!

    Published 15/12/21

Unfortunately, this year KS2 could not all come together to perform their Christmas Carol Concert in the Church. However, the children and staff have been working very hard over the last few weeks to learn some very special songs, which we are very excited to bring to you virtually. Today in school, our whole community watched it at the same time, in phases, and even though we are still separated, there was a lovely feeling of togetherness.

So grab a cup of tea, sit back, and we hope you enjoy the KS2 Christmas Carol Concert 2021.

The KS1 Christmas Nativity is often one of the highlights of the year. However, due to our ongoing efforts to keep everyone safe, we again decided to make this year's performance virtual. All the staff and children have been working very hard over the last few weeks to learn about this special time of year. They have also been learning some joyful songs which they wanted to share with everyone at home.

So grab another cup of tea, and we hope you enjoy the KS1 Christmas Nativity!

Over the past six weeks, some children from Year Three and Year Four have participated in very special fitness sessions. 'Wake Up Shake Up', which 'Effective Transition' has led, is designed to give all pupils a full-body workout at the same time as reinforcing the key messages of keeping healthy. The fun-packed sessions motivate pupils and help to understand that keeping active is a vital part of staying healthy. All the children who have taken part had thoroughly enjoyed making new friends and done brilliantly, even when it was freezing outside!

A huge thank you to Coach Terry for leading the club!

This morning class 6.2 took part in a two-hour creative workshop to introduce children to the history of graffiti art and give them the chance to develop their own piece with guidance from an experienced artist. There were also discussions on careers in the arts and the ways we can make our ideas a reality.

Children used a variety of materials to create their own design for a business logo. This included using spray cans, stencils, Posca paint pens and airbrushes. It has been a fantastic and exciting morning for all, and we know Class 6.1 are even more excited now and are eagerly awaiting their turn next week. Thank you to Edmonton Community Partnership for helping to bring this opportunity to St Edmund's.

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 girls’ football team!

Last Friday they took part in a Girls' tournament at the nearby Power League. They played five matches in their group and won all of them scoring the most goals in the tournament. They then went on to play in the semi-final against Galliard and won 2-0. In the final we played a resilient team from Eversley, however a fantastic effort from the girls meant St Edmund's won 3-0!

By winning the Enfield tournament, we are now through to the regional finals!

A great effort by all the team, excellent team work, and we are all very proud of you!
