A great team effort!

Our second match was against Eldon. They are top of the league, it was a hard game, and we nearly scored in the last few minutes. Unfortunately, it was 0-0 at the final whistle.

The girls played both games well and worked as a team! Well done, keep it up!

They have included some of our children and their paintings in a display at Piccadilly Circus. It will be shown at 8.25pm every night until the end of December. WE ARE FAMOUS. If you are up in London we are sure the children would love to see it for themselves.

During the week beginning 16th June, St Edmund’s proudly celebrated Money Week with the exciting theme “Young Entrepreneurs in Action 2025.” The week was a huge success, filled with creativity, enthusiasm, and impressive displays of financial understanding from all year groups.

It was wonderful to hear children in the playground passionately discussing their business ideas and to see financial literacy come to life in the classroom. Year 5, in particular, delved into budgeting and explored the important distinction between needs and wants.

A special highlight was Year 4’s fantastic cake sale in the playground, where pupils put their entrepreneurial skills into action by planning, preparing, and selling a delicious selection of cakes. It was a brilliant example of teamwork, marketing, and money management in a real-world context—and a tasty treat for all who took part!

Another key feature of the week was the ‘My Mini Business’ project. The children brought in outstanding creations, showcasing innovative ideas and entrepreneurial flair. Teachers were incredibly impressed by the level of thought, creativity, and effort that went into every submission – choosing the winners was no easy task!

We played several games against schools from around London. We played well, and we will find out the results soon.  Everyone played well and worked as a team!

The winning team was St. Andrew's 4-1. Well done St. Andrew's!

The teams were divided into two groups, group A and group B. We were in group B. We played 3 matches and one of them. We were the winners of group B.

We were through to the semi-final and we won! We were in the final, but unfortunately, we lost 2-0 to Starks Field. All the boys played brilliantly and enjoyed the afternoon. All players received a medal. Well done boys!

This was a cup match and the girls played a brilliant match, really pushing and defending well, saving some great shots! At full-time, the score was 0-0, so extra time was needed. We won 1-0 and got through to the next round. Great effort girls!

Their first match was against Churchfield and at half-time it was 1-1. In the second half, Churchfield scored their second goal in the last seconds of the match and won.

Our  second match was much tougher, playing against Raynham. They were good, and we needed to defend well. Unfortunately, we lost 5-1 to Raynham, but not without fight trying really hard. Well done team, second round next week!

The took part in boccia, new age curling and the even had a go at long -jump landing in the sand! Well done to everyone for learning these skills and having fun.

They played really well as a team and tried to score goals, with lots of near misses! Well done girls, you are playing really well as a team!

As part of our lesson, we created personal affirmation posters, filled with messages that are unique and meaningful to us. Some of the affirmations we shared included:

• "I have the strength and faith to overcome any obstacle."
• "I am kind, thoughtful, and make a positive impact on the world."
• "I am supported by my teachers, family, and friends every step of the way."
• "I trust in myself and God to guide me through each new challenge."

We also took the opportunity to celebrate our uniqueness by creating superhero names and designing stickers for ourselves and our friends. For example:

•  Mystic Shield
• Solar Flare
• Earthquake
• Moonlight Archer Blaze Falcon
• Storm Whisperer

Once we had our superhero names, we made special stickers and handed them out to our friends during break time—even some of the teachers got one! It was a fun and uplifting way to remind each other just how special we all are.

The team played a brilliant game with two players scoring two goals each. In the second match against Firs Farm, the goalie saved a penalty, but scored a penalty to make the match 1-0, then St Edmund's scored a penalty, making it 1-1.

First Holy Communion is a significant milestone in the life of a Catholic child, deeply rooted in the traditions and teachings of the Catholic Church, symbolising a child's full participation in the spiritual life of the Church. It is seen as a profound moment of spiritual growth, bringing the child closer to Jesus and the community of believers. This event is the culmination of a period of religious education and preparation, during which children have learned about the significance of the Eucharist, the Last Supper, and the importance of being in a state of grace. Through this preparation, children have been taught the values of faith, humility, and reverence, which are central to Catholic teachings. Moreover, First Holy Communion is viewed as a step towards greater spiritual responsibility and maturity. It signifies that they are now expected to actively participate in the Mass and embrace the teachings of the Church in their daily life. It is an invitation to grow in faith and continue on the path of spiritual development, reinforcing the importance of the Eucharist as a source of spiritual nourishment and grace throughout their lives.

They were each given a gift when they left. The children enjoyed the morning and had fun!
