  • Stars Of The Week!

    Published 12/11/21

Each week children are chosen by their class teachers to be the 'Star of the Week.' They are chosen for many reasons, including following our school rules 'Ready, Respect and Safe' or by demonstrating our school motto 'Love, Care, Share.' These winners each week are a great example to their peers and make all the adults in St Edmund's very proud. As well as getting a particular certificate, the children receive a special reward in school, and a text message is sent home so that the celebrations can continue.

Each week you can find the 'Stars of the Week' by visiting this page.

  • A Busy Week!

    Published 04/11/21

Pupils have been taking part in lots of different activities across school, making for a very exciting first week back!

On Monday and Tuesday, Year 1 went on their first-ever school trip. They visited our local library in Edmonton Green. They walked all the way and were able to enjoy an afternoon reading and listening to short stories. They all had a fantastic time and looked very smart in their school uniform and high-vis jackets.

Each day this week, children in Year 6 have been working hard to complete their Level 1 and Level 2 Cycling proficiency. Pupils had to complete a number of activities where they learn and develop the skills needed to be safe when cycling on the road. The children have thoroughly enjoyed their lessons and well done to those who have achieved their certificates.

Finally, well done to Thomas, Kwaku and Emmanuel who attended the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation half-term holiday camp. They took part in a number of different NFL games and were rewarded with some amazing goodies at the end of the week. They all had a great time and said they would recommend it to everyone in future. So keep an eye out for future opportunities!

Well done everyone on a great first week back. Now enjoy a rest this weekend! :-)

  • KS2 Inter-House Competiton!

    Published 21/10/21

Today saw Key Stage 2 children take part in the first Inter-House Competition of the new school year. These events happen each half-term and focus on a different sport. Today saw children from each house take part in a football tournament.
All houses played each other within phases (Yr 3 + 4 and Yr 5 + 6) with additional House Points for winning a match or displaying good sportsmanship.
The children love these competitions, but will have to wait until our next assembly to find out who won!

In other news, we want to say a huge congratulations to our Girls Football team. They won both of their league matches! They played against Raglans first, beating them 3-0, and Galliard School second, beating them 8-0. A great team effort with wonderful defending. Well done to Chancey, Zolie and Ene for scoring most of the goals.

You all represented the school brilliantly, and Mrs Spinazzola said you were a delight to take!

  • The Red Ties Are Back!

    Published 14/10/21

Last week we were very excited to announce the Autumn Red Ties. Ten children were chosen from Year 6 by their teachers who represented the St Edmund's motto 'Love, Care, Share' each and every day. These children are excellent role models to their peers and stand out not only because of their bright red ties, but because of their effort, resilience and big smiles!

This week they have completed their first full week of duties and performed excellently. From collecting registers, helping in the dinner hall and setting up games at lunchtime, they have all truly justified why they were chosen. The children will continue in this role until January, when new red ties will be selected!

Well done everyone on a great first week!

  • Celebrating Harvest Festival

    Published 07/10/21

Today, the children came together in their phases to celebrate the festival of Harvest. Year 1 and 2 took part in a beautiful liturgy in the hall led by Miss Sar and Miss Conway.

Year 4 were very lucky to watch a fantastic assembly by Year 3 all about why Harvest Festival is a time to thank God for the food he provides for us. The children spoke confidently and clearly enjoyed performing. They were a credit to their teachers!

Year 5 and 6 came together virtually to join in a special liturgy led by Miss Pittendreigh. They had time to pray and reflect on what makes Harvest special to so many.

Thank you to all who have donated food. We will now ensure all donations are passed on to those in need in our local community.

  • Harvest Festival Donations

    Published 04/10/21

Every year, the children at St Edmund's mark the harvest season in a special way. This year we shall be having three separate celebrations, allowing all children to be involved within their respective phases.

A big part of the Harvest Celebration for the children is the donation of items for a good cause. We would love to make this year the biggest yet, after the disruption last year. We would really appreciate if you could send what you can, which might include:

    • Non-perishable food items
    • Disposable nappies, soap, toothpaste etc...
    • Cash donations in a sealed envelope marked 'Harvest Donation'

We shall ensure that all donations will be passed on to vulnerable people within our Parish. Please can all donations be sent to school as soon as possible and by Wednesday 6th October at the latest.

We understand that in the current climate it is not always possible to give. Please do not feel under any pressure to donate.

Thank you in advance for the support you give us in teaching your children the virtues of giving and of Christian charity.
