  • New York, Milan, Paris....Edmonton!

    Published 24/06/21

This term, Year 6 children have been studying fashion through the ages as part of the Design and Technology curriculum.  Children started by researching fashion design from the Victorian era through to the present day and particularly focused on fashion made from recycled materials.

As part of the project, children had to design and make outfits from newspaper.  They then presented their outfits to the rest of Key Stage 2 at a socially distanced fashion show, where a chosen model walked the catwalk and another child presented their idea.  The children worked extremely well to create exciting and imaginative designs and really enjoyed showing off their hard work.

Well done to all the children and staff for putting on a great show!

As well as growing strawberries, cucumber, planting a new apple and plum tree, we will soon have our very own greenhouse to ensure this newfound love of gardening is here to stay!

This project will conclude in some special lessons in a couple of weeks when children will enjoy and taste the fruits of their labour.

  • Lunchtime's Golden Table

We are incredibly fortunate at St Edmund's to provide and promote our children with healthy and wholesome lunches. As part of our lunchtime routine, we can also encourage and promote good manners and behaviour whilst at the table. To recognise and celebrate just this, our midday assistants have set up a Golden Table Award where lovely manners and behaviours are rewarded with a 'Golden Ticket'.

Each Friday, the lucky winners get to sit at a special table where they will be served by the adults and enjoy their lunch on the golden plates and drink from the golden cups. This reward applies to all, whether hot or packed lunches and as you can see from the picture, Year 4 have certainly enjoyed their time today!

  • Red Nose Day 2021

    Published 19/03/21

We have celebrated Red Nose Day this year by coming to school in our own clothes and making an effort to have 'wacky hair'. We have also searched for St Edmund's Best Joke which was won by Andrew in 4.2.

    The joke was...

Why did the kid throw the clock out of the window?

Because they wanted to see time fly! :-)

Staff have also taken part in a virtual lip sync battle. The adults gave brilliant renditions of Westlife, Queen and Sister Sledge. All of which have brought a big smile to our faces.

As a school we have raised an incredible amount of money and would like to thank you all for your wonderful effort to help those during this challenging time.

It has been a marvellous day with lots of laughs!

    Well done everyone!
