  • Girls Football League

    Published 25/10/24

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 girls football team. They played their first league games. They did very well in defending and attacking and nearly scoring a goal against Eldon, but Eldon got a penalty and won 1-0.
We continued our attacks against Edmonton Co, but lost 1-0. Our final match was with Highfield and we lost against them 3-0.
We still played a great match and our goalie saving many goals throughout the matches. Well-done girls, a great team effort!

Well done to the Year 5 and 6 football team, yet again they played well, in defending and attacking. Unfortunately, they lost some matches. They played against Prince of Wales (POW) scoring the first goal. Before half -time, POW equalised, it was 1-1. POW scored in the last second of full time, making it 2-1 to POW. The second match with  Eldon was again another great game, with constantly attacking trying to score goals, missing a few times. We drew with Eldon 0-0. The last match with Raglan was also exciting, with great attacking and fantastic defending from the boys at the back and great saves from our goalie. Unfortunately, we lost 4-0, but not without putting in a great fight. Well done boys, you should be proud!

  • Year 6 Mental Health Activities

    Published 11/10/24

Today in Year 6, we focused on mental health and discussed why it’s so important to take care of our minds and well-being. We also talked about all the exciting and positive activities we get to experience this year, like the PGL trip, school production, awards assemblies, pizza parties, and of course, the much-anticipated school disco with a DJ!

As part of our lesson, we created personal affirmation posters, filled with messages that are unique and meaningful to us. Some of the affirmations we shared included:

    • "I have the strength and faith to overcome any obstacle."
    • "I am kind, thoughtful, and make a positive impact on the world."
    • "I am supported by my teachers, family, and friends every step of the way."
    • "I trust in myself and God to guide me through each new challenge."

We also took the opportunity to celebrate our uniqueness by creating superhero names and designing stickers for ourselves and our friends. For example:

    •  Mystic Shield
    • Solar Flare
    • Earthquake
    • Moonlight Archer Blaze Falcon
    • Storm Whisperer

Once we had our superhero names, we made special stickers and handed them out to our friends during break time—even some of the teachers got one! It was a fun and uplifting way to remind each other just how special we all are.

Well done to the Year 5 and  boys football team. They played two matches in the league, Edmonton County and Firs Farm. We won against Edmonton Co 4-0 and drew 1-1 against Firs Farm.

The team played a brilliant game with two players scoring two goals each. In the second match against Firs Farm, the goalie saved a penalty, but scored a penalty to make the match 1-0, then St Edmund's scored a penalty, making it 1-1.

A great team effort by all the players!
